Jon began his journey of woodworking when he was a teenager, working with his dad in carpentry in Wisconsin. When moving to Vermont, Jon was offered the opportunity to work for a renowned wooden bowl company, where he first began as a sawyer, processing and milling logs into more workable pieces. Not long after, he began turning bowls both at work and at home in his garage, even on the coldest Vermont nights. He loved the craft, technical and artistic aspects of the process of woodturning. He saw woodturning as a way to showcase the inherent beauty of wood itself. After leaving the production bowl company in 2022, Jon ventured to work independently, combining his creative outlook with the nature of the wood to inspire new pieces, no one bowl like the next, hence beginning of One Of One Woodturning.
Jon works from his wood shop at home, where he and his wife raise two beautiful boys, chickens, donkeys and ducks.
